The teaching staff
The teaching staff at the Beit Tzipora learning center is selected stringently, underscoring professional knowledge and motivation to create change in the children’s self-perceived ability. Beit Tzipora teachers are for the most part experienced in teaching within the Education Ministry framework.
We use several teacher training models:
General sessions held once every three weeks to address pedagogic issues: the Center’s world view, program goals, empowerment processes and pupil reinforcement.
Supervision sessions throughout the year focusing on subjects taught at the Center: language abilities, mathematics and English.
An individual and group work plan is designed for every pupil in his or her study group.
Every class is assigned a teacher who serves as the homeroom teacher and also assists in teaching. The teaching team includes remedial teachers and a learning disabilities teacher and diagnostician. We are also assisted by many others, including volunteers, National Service women, the Scouts youth movement and college students.
Beit Tziporah was established by the Elie Wiesel Foundation. It operates as a school of excellence for Kiryat Malachi residents. The center is attended by some 400 students from grades 1 to 12 who receive complementary studies and support in core subjects and matriculation studies. Diverse educational activities are offered after school and up until 8 pm. Classes are given by teachers qualified in their specific fields, in small groups and based on differential mentoring, individualized learning strategies, and creating a close connection with each student. Beit Tziporah structures individual learning programs for each of its students, geared at improving the student's achievements up until successful matriculation that will assist their later integration into civilian life.
Beit Tziporah runs 16 classrooms, 2 computer rooms and an expanding library all of which support attaining its pedagogic goals and promoting students from diverse educational backgrounds.
